Question 1.

Are the reports from dxdiag 100% correct??
I ask for the following reason.
Here is the graphics description for my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1200)

15" XGA LCD and Intel Extreme 2 Graphics with 64MB Shared Memory
(taken from a review on http://compreviews.about.com/od/budg...llInsp1200.htm)

Now this is the report from running dxdiag:

Q1. It is correct. The model number is Intel Extreme2 chip. Although the video chip is using 128MB video memory [shared], which is pretty nasty if you have only 256MB of RAM.

Q2. Yes. It'll be a definite improvement especially with newer Windows operating system which gets very bogged on low memory. Especially when you have videochip eating off the RAM from windows (Integrated chips usually share the system memory, taking off a chunk)

Q3. No. What makes you think that?

no bonus

the 128 memory is allowed because you have more memory to share.

with the lower memory before upgrading the most it would allow for shared video was the 64mb
